Recent finds

Three big books of old sheet music to make paper flowers with.

A set of gold, soon to be white scalloped edge dessert cup looking dishes ~ not really sure what they were used for, but we have a vision of what they could become. Check back, we will post the finished project soon...
A few adorable cards.
We though the old patterns would work great for wrapping our goodies in that we sell on etsy, here and here. Notice the one on the top, the one with the striped dress. Totally 80's! Brings back some memories!

Happy New Years!!!

Black Eyed Peas have always been a part of our New Years Day Meal. They are said to bring you good luck in the coming year. We had baked chicken, green beans, homemade rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. YUM!

For Dessert we had Apple Pudding cake. The picture looks like chunky meat loaf, but it is really tasty!

APPLE PUDDING CAKE

Cream 2 cups sugar and 1/2 cup butter. Add 2 eggs, mix well.
Chop 6 medium apples and add to mixture, mix well.
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 cup chopped nuts ~ optional (we did not add the nuts to ours)
Add to mixture and mix well. Bake for 30 ~ 35 minutes at 350.
Place in a greased 13 x 9 pan.

SAUCE

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sweet cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
mix and bring to a boil.
Sauce is best when warm and drizzled over apple pudding cake.
