New love...

I know it is not good to obsess over things, but... I love Prima flowers! I just ordered some from ebay, and can't wait until they arrive! My creative wheels are turning with all the possibilities of things waiting to be made using theses flowers.

The best show on earth!!!

This is our booth. I wanted to take an after picture, but was so busy I forgot.

It has been nearly a week since The Farm Chick Show, and we are still talking about how wonderfully amazing it was! This year was our third year to be a vendor in the show, and by far our best yet! On Sunday, Serena announced that over 4,300 people came through the doors on Saturday, but it sure seemed like 5 million to us. The show opened at 10:00,and by the time I had the chance to look at my phone to see what time it was it was 3:30. Kathy and I didn't have much time to shop or to get very many pictures of the show this year, but we wanted to share with you what we did manage to get.

I stand all amazed at the creativeness of Krys from Hutch Studio. She made her booth from cardboard. Yes, you read that right, from cardboard. I know, crazy, right?!!! What talent that lady has. She sews the most adorable little bunnies, birds and bears, she paints and I'm sure has a multitude of other talents. You know, when you give a person a piece of fabric or piece of paper and a brush you expect something creative to come from it...but cardboard??? It was truly awesome....great job Krys!!!

These lovely ladies were from the Seattle area. Every girl needs a crown!

The after show party on Saturday night was over the top! The food was scrumptious! Oh, and the desserts, there were so many to choose from what is a girl to do but try them all! The party was held at Chaps/Cake, if you have not been there, I would highly recommend it! Overall the show was a success once again! A huge thank you to Serena for all your hard work!

A little peek and the winner...

First of all I have to apologize for not posting sooner, and not revealing the winner of our giveaway. We have been so busy getting ready for Farm Chicks that I completely forgot! The winner is..... Shari French of Southern Charm!!! YAY Shari!

Rain rain go away! I think that if Mother Nature realized how absolutely wonderful Farm Chicks was she just might cooperate with us and save the rain for another day! I really am thankful for the rain and all the beauty it brings, but it is really hard to get furniture painted when it is raining!

Listen to the orchestras of spring

I love the sounds of spring. The birds chirp, the bees buzz, thunderstorms and rain on a tin roof.
I hope that we can all take a little time out of our busy lives to listen to the orchestras of spring. Our next post we will be having a giveaway to celebrate our 100th post!

Lost in the 50's car parade

This past weekend we ventured up to Sandpoint for the Lost in the 50's car show. I love Sandpoint! I moved there when I was about 9 years old and lived there up until nearly 7 years ago. It was fun to see old friends in the parade showing off their fancy cars. We even saw Shari French from Southern Charm in the parade.

This one is my favorite... only because it's pink!

Farm Chicks and Boutiques and Bloom Garden Show

We are working on getting an events calendar made up for our upcoming shows this year, which we will post later. So for now... Our first two show of the season are The Farm Chicks Show on June 5th &6th and then the Boutiques and Bloom Garden Show on June 19th. Hope to see you there! Week End Fun!

On Saturday we went to the Garden Expo at Spokane Community College. We had never been and we thought we should check it out because so many people have told us how wonderful it is. Well, it was just that and more and it was HUGE! We had no idea it was that big of a show. It is all related to gardening, of course, but we found a few pieces of shabby furniture thrown in for good measure. The picture below is from a vendor known only as Liz and Mom, they didn't have a business name, but they had some really cute stuff.

For-Get-Me-Not

A mother and daughter team known as For-Get-Me-Not had a lovely space set up at the show. They used adorable containers such as a vintage trash can, a breadbox and cute tins to put plants in. Oh, it was all so sweet and yummy!

On Mother's Day we went to Manito Park for a picnic and this is what we found. Mama duck and six babies, there's nothing sweeter than a mama and her babies. I could have watched them all day. My granddaughter gave them small pieces of bread and pretty soon the catfish were there taking it all. Yes, I know the catfish were eating the bread...is that funny or what!

Speaking of baby ducks...in our family these little round punch-outs are known as baby ducks. It all started when my oldest daughter, Jennifer, was about two. We were in the grocery store one day and she was looking at the toys. They were toys that were all in packages and hanging, so a lot of the little round punch-outs were on the bottom shelf where these toys were hanging. A little while later when we had moved on to another aisle, Jennifer showed me what was in her hand. She proudly told me it was baby ducks. Well, you would probably think this would be the end of the story, but NO! She continued to collect baby ducks everywhere we went...for a long time. Her Nana gave her a small plastic box with a lid so she could properly care for and keep her ducks. Jennifer would take this little box to bed with her, along with her beloved blanket, and I'm sure have sweet dreams of baby ducks. I asked many times why these little things were baby ducks to her, but it just didn't make it out in translation, so we will never know. All I know for sure is that the little round punch-outs will forever in my mind be baby ducks.

Chairs for Buttercuppity

Today we delivered six chairs to Buttercuppity that we have been working on for Ari's sewing lounge, aren't they yummy! Ari has some of the most delicious fabrics around! If you have never experienced Buttercuppity, you should plan a trip soon, I promise you won't be disappointed!

My Wee White Boats

A couple of weeks ago while at an estate sale I found a stack of ever so adorable issues of The Sunbeam. They were all folded nice and neatly waiting for a good home,and I was happy to be the lucky one! The illustrations on them are so charming dating back to 1924.The stories teach of love and kindness towards others. Messages that stand true still today. I really don't know to much about them except they were published monthly (weekly in some parts) by the Presbyterian Church. A single subscription was 50 cents a year. I think that this particular one is one of my favorites.
